Principal's Message / Mensaje de la Directora

Pam Davenport south city academy principalDear Confluence Academy-South City Families,

On behalf of Confluence Academy-South City teachers and staff, it is truly my pleasure to extend a warm welcome to each of you.

To those students and parents who are new to Confluence Academy-South City, we extend you an especially warm welcome and best wishes. We hope you will feel at home and become involved in activities through the Parent-Teacher Organization, school programs, and classroom events.

As I begin my 11th year as principal, I’m energized and deeply committed to making a positive difference in the lives of our children. The administrative team, faculty, and staff will continue to work diligently with parents and students to foster an atmosphere that promotes a learning community characterized by child-centered instruction and decisions, academic excellence, trust, respect, community involvement, excellent communications, and recognition of achievements for both students and staff. We are dedicated to working in collaboration with parents to continue to develop and implement our shared vision.

We are excited to have two pre-kindergarten classes. With a strong foundation in literacy, our pre-kindergarten students are well-prepared for kindergarten. Beginning in kindergarten, students receive a solid foundation of reading skills, writing, mathematical reasoning, and critical thinking. Students in grades 3-8 have one-to-one technology in their classrooms, with access to Chromebooks every day to allow for more individualized learning. We have two library media centers and an excellent physical education program to round out the school experience.

Confluence Academy-South City students represent many cultures and ethnicities, which makes our school diverse. We have teachers who are highly qualified to support our students who speak English as their second language. Our classroom teachers and designated English Language Learner teachers work directly with students based on the assessment of their English language skills. It is one of many programs we have to meet individual student needs as we move toward a common goal.

The staff and I would like to personally thank all of our students and parents for selecting Confluence Academy-South City as your school of choice. We have so much to be proud of as a staff, family and community. We will continue to concentrate on the school theme to “Be A STAR” - Safety first, Take responsibility, Arrive ready and Respect others. Parents, you are always welcome to call with any questions or concerns - (314) 481-4700.

I am confident that 2018-2019 will be an outstanding school year. I look forward to continuing the Confluence Academy-South City tradition of striving for excellence!

Warm Regards,

Pamela Davenport, Ed.S.
