Principal's Message / Mensaje de la Directora

Dear South City Academy Families and Community,

It is an honor to introduce myself as the new principal of South City Academy. I am beyond excited to join the South City Comets and to begin building relationships with our students, families, staff, and community partners.

Throughout my career, I have served students and families as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, instructional leader, and educator of future teachers. In every role, one belief has remained constant: strong relationships create strong schools and powerful learning. Children learn and thrive when they feel known, valued, supported, and connected.

As I begin this journey, I will spend a great deal of time listening and learning. I want to hear what you love about South City Academy, which traditions are most meaningful to you, and how we can continue to grow stronger together. I look forward to visiting classrooms, attending school events, talking with families, and learning directly from our students about their hopes for their school.

This year, we are preparing to launch into a new chapter together. Our guiding message, “Dare Mighty Things,” reminds us to dream boldly, try courageously, and believe in what is possible when a community works together. Mighty things do not happen because of one person. They happen when students, families, staff, and community members bring their strengths together around a shared purpose.

My goal is for South City Academy to be a place where every child feels a true sense of belonging and is challenged to learn and grow. I want our school filled with joy, pride, kindness, high expectations, and opportunities for every student to shine. I also want our families to know that you are essential partners in this work. Your voices, ideas, questions, and experiences will help shape our path forward.

Although South City Academy serves students across our Compton and Meramec campuses, we are one school and one Comet family. I am committed to strengthening that connection and creating meaningful opportunities for our students, staff, and families to come together.

Please introduce yourself when you see me, share your ideas, and help me learn what makes South City Academy special. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve this community, and I cannot wait to see the mighty things we will accomplish together.
